The problem · Kenya’s grid

The grid powering your business is under strain

Aging lines, technical and commercial losses, and demand outrunning supply have made unstable power the norm in Kenya — and the instability lands at your equipment’s terminals.

Voltage swings

Feeders sag under load and spike off-peak, drifting well outside the 230 V / 400 V nominal. Equipment is built to tolerate only ±5–10% (ANSI C84.1 / NEMA MG-1) — beyond that, it overheats or trips.

Surges & spikes

Switching events, faults and the restoration after each outage push fast transients onto the line. Unprotected drives, PLCs and medical electronics degrade or fail outright.

Brownouts

Thin reserve margins force evening load-shedding and sustained under-voltage. Motors draw more current to hold torque, run hot, and quietly lose insulation life.

What it costs your equipment

What unstable voltage does to your equipment

Voltage that strays from nominal is not just an inconvenience — the effects are measurable, cumulative and well documented in motor-engineering standards.

When voltage sags
−19%available torque at a 10% under-voltage
  • Motor torque falls with the square of voltage — a 10% sag cuts torque by about 19%.
  • To hold the load, windings draw more current and run hotter than their rating.
  • Every extra 10 °C of winding temperature halves the motor’s insulation life.
  • Symptoms: stalled starts, nuisance trips, premature motor and compressor failure.
When voltage spikes
−70%incandescent lamp life at a 10% over-voltage
  • High voltage saturates the magnetic core, forcing excess magnetizing current.
  • Lighting and electronics are especially exposed — a 10% over-voltage cuts lamp life ~70%.
  • Sustained over-voltage accelerates insulation ageing across the whole installation.
  • Symptoms: blown lamps, degraded drives and controls, shortened equipment life.

The safe window is narrow. ANSI C84.1 keeps service voltage within ±5% and NEMA MG-1 rates motors for ±10%. A Vener 7 AVR holds output to ±1% — comfortably inside both, whatever the grid is doing.

Why Vener 7

Engineered for the Kenyan grid

What makes Vener 7 different from the cheaper stabilizers sold locally, and why they last.

±1% output stability

Servo-controlled regulation holds the output within 1% of nominal across a wide 180–270 V (single-phase) or 320–460 V (three-phase) input swing.

Independent per-phase control

Three-phase Vener 7 units correct each phase separately, essential on Kenyan supplies where phase imbalance is common, and the reason cheaper stabilizers fail early.

Response under 10 ms

Fast enough to protect sensitive loads (CNC machines, medical imaging, servers, VFDs) from the voltage dips that follow Kenya Power switching events.

Graded for East African sites

Ambient-rated −20 °C to 50 °C, IP-30 indoor or outdoor oil-cooled cabinets. Designed for continuous duty in coastal humidity and up-country heat alike.

Service & support

Every service, documented. Yours on demand.

We don’t supply and disappear. Every machine and every site gets a full, living service history — and a detailed report after each visit — so you always know exactly what has been done, and can pull the record whenever you need it.

  • Full service history, per machine and site

Every AVR and every site carries a complete service record — installation, maintenance, callouts, parts, readings — kept current and available to you at all times.

  • A digital report after every visit

Each service produces a documented report: equipment checks, the voltage and current readings, before-and-after photos, and the recommended next step.

  • Request any record, any time

Need the history on a specific unit or your whole site — for an audit, insurance, compliance or budgeting? Ask, and you have it. It’s your data.

  • Maintenance and repairs, all logged

Scheduled servicing and fast repairs, every one documented. Nothing happens to your equipment that you can’t see, with proof of exactly what was done.
